TRIO Design workshops to help you ask yourself the right questions

From February 21 to March 6, twelve startups assisted by Montpellier BIC benefit from a personalized design audit at no charge, thanks to Montpellier Métropole’s partnership with the designer association Pulse.

The Montpellier designer association Pulse, Montpellier BIC, and a startup are the instigators of twelve “TRIO Design” sessions organized on the mornings of February 21 and 28, and March 6 at the Cap Omega incubator. They give entrepreneurs assisted by Montpellier BIC an opportunity to discuss with experienced designers for a full hour. The presence of a BIC project manager facilitates the dialog. T

he outcome for participants is a mini audit provided by professionals regarding object, digital, interface, and user experience design.

“Uniting about twenty agencies and independents, the Pulse association demonstrates that these resources exist in Montpellier. There is no need to look to Paris or Lyon to find a designer,” highlights one of the participants, Nicolas Chauveau, UX/UI designer at the agency Entreautre.

Designer breakfasts in March and April

With a dozen beneficiaries since the end of 2017, twelve startups now benefit from TRIO Design in 2020. On February 21, Nicolas Chauveau and Franck Viennois (Nektart) listened to four startups in the health and digital sectors and asked them questions.

The startups were all at different levels of maturity regarding their development of objects, web sites, and mobile applications. “Our job is to be versatile and transversal,” says Nicolas Chauveau. For NauticSpot, which needs to integrate a new feature in its marina management solution, the designers presented the interest of using interactive mock-ups and recommended that the company expand its horizons to include applications for similar environments.

The engineer for RegenLife, which is developing a medical device prototype for people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases, emerged from the workshop “with new ideas and questions that I had not yet considered.”

With support from Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, which firmly believes in boosting cultural and creative industries, notably with its Creative City project, the association Pulse also organizes “designer breakfasts”, which will continue on March 17 and April 21 on the theme of digital communication. Christophe Tincelin (agency Entreautre) mentions other work currently being carried out by the association: “Following the National Design Conference, we have been working with the Montpellier cultural center La Fenêtre and the regional collective Indigo d’Oc to capture the state-of-the-art and a local map of players involved with design.”
